Mignolet Assessed Have 4 Months to Show Superiority and Save Jobs
Liverpool – Four months is referred to as a very important period in the career of Simon Mignolet, not just in Liverpool, but also his career as a whole.
This season the 26-year-old Belgian goalkeeper who recruited Liverpool at the start of last season was a big spotlight following a less than convincing performance in goal.
By the middle of this month Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers pulled even Mignolet “until the time limit is not necessarily” and start position of goalkeeper Brad Jones to escort the Reds.
However, injury to Jones on Boxing Day game makes Mignolet back to the opportunity to prove themselves. And according to Jamie Carragher, Liverpool tough defender period 1996-2013, so the proof is an absolute requirement for the goalkeeper.
“Mignolet has said he does not need to prove anything, but he actually just had to prove themselves from today until the end of the season,” Carragher told Sky Sports value and Mirror quoted.
“He is fighting to save his career at Liverpool and he probably will remain in the team between now and the end of the season, but he may also struggle to secure an overall career at a big club.
“He came from Sunderland, and without any intention of demeaning, they are what you call a stopover club, so if Liverpool take it off if he would be able to return the chance at a big club? Four months will be crucial for the whole of his career,” he said.
