Beware Pirlo Roma in Serie A, Juve Expect More Okay in Europe
Turin – Juventus senior midfielder, Andrea Pirlo, discuss the challenges facing both his club this season in Serie A and the European level.
It’s been the last three seasons Juve Scudetto. In 2011-12, the Bianconeri outperformed AC Milan by two points. The season after that La Vecchia Signora champion by a margin of nine points of Napoli in second place.
While last season Juve triumphed by winning 102 points – a record – and outperform existing AS Roma in second place by a margin of 17 points.
For the 2014-15 season, Antonio Conte led Juve to three Scudetto has been replaced by Massimiliano Allegri. And in an effort to win the Scudetto for the fourth consecutive time, Pirlo judge that should be very wary of Roma back.
“Regarding the Serie A title, I’m worried about Rome,” I Pirlo on Football Italia.
If Juve in Serie A could be very dominant in the last three seasons, their actions in the same period in Europe just the opposite. At Juve 2010-11 Europa League due to finish seventh in Serie A the previous season had run aground in the group phase.
In the 2012-13 season the ‘Old Lady‘, this time in the Champions League, the top European club competition caste, eliminated in the quarterfinals after smothering Bayern Munich, who then became champion. While last season Juve even eliminated in the group phase of the Champions League, before finally completely knocked out of Europe as a result of losing to Benfica in the Europa League semi-final.
“In Europe we must certainly better than the previous season,” said Pirlo who is now 35-year-old.
